RESEARCH PORTFOLIO

Hi! I’m Madison, and you’ve found my portfolio - I’m happy you’re here! I’ve been working as a UX Researcher in health tech since 2018, and I’ve been lucky to study many types of users (doctors, provider office staff, clinical coders, patients/members, pharmacists, and more). As you peep some of my past projects below, here’s what I hope you take away:

  1. I see research as a way to de-risk decisions. My study designs focus on doing as much as we can with the time and resources we have access to.

  2. There’s a time and place for each research method, and research questions should guide every decision (study design, methods, sampling plan, analysis, etc). That’s how we scope tight projects.

  3. I prefer to live with projects from the generative stage (exploring “what is the right thing to build”) to the evaluative stage (asking “are we building the right thing the right way”) working in close partnership with UX design. But I understand that’s not always feasible, so I’ll jump in wherever we have time and space to de-risk.

  4. I really enjoy complex problem spaces. From Class 2 medical devices to Risk Adjustment coding, I love the challenge of explaining complex things in simple ways. My first love is the “problem” - not any potential solution. Though my experience has been hyper-focused on health tech, I feel confident my philosophy, paradigm, and skills translate to any company that believes in the power of user research.
